Von Miller Gets Tutored

Bill Williamson reported for ESPN AFC West Blog that Broncos’ Rookie LB Von Miller, despite the lockout, has found a tutor in the new 4-3-defense that head coach John Fox plans to install this upcoming season. That tutor, former Dallas linebacker and Texas A&M inside linebackers coach, Dat Nguyen. “He played in the 4-3, did in the NFL. He knows what to expect, so I’ve been working with him,” Miller said. “I want to have all of the terminology down, know my responsibilities, so when we get the word I’m ready to come in, line up and play…That’s my expectation, to be ready to do what I’m supposed to do in the Broncos’ defense.”
It’s great to see a rookie putting so much effort into learning this system despite not being able to talk with coaches. It’s also comforting to see that Miller is realizing his potential and his obvious placement as one of the fresh starters on a struggling defense.
